Taxpayer’s personal account for organizations: convenience of remote interaction with tax authorities

Home / NEWS / Taxpayer’s personal account for organizations: convenience of remote interaction with tax authorities

In modern conditions of digitalization, many processes of interaction with government agencies are moving to an online format. This is especially true for businesses where convenience and efficiency are of great importance. One of the key tools for interaction with tax authorities is the Personal Account of the taxpayer organization, which is available on the official website of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) of Russia.

What is the Personal account of a taxpayer organization?
The personal account of a taxpayer of a legal entity is a special online service of the Federal Tax Service, which allows organizations to receive up—to-date information on the status of settlements with the budget, submit various requests, as well as monitor and replenish the balance of the Unified Tax Account (ENS). All this can be done remotely, without the need to visit the tax office.

The main features of the Personal account:
Payment of taxes via the Internet
The Single Tax Account system allows companies to pay taxes in a simplified format. Using your personal account, you can top up this account, and then distribute the funds to various tax obligations.

Debt control
In the personal account, the organization can receive up-to-date information about tax and fee arrears, as well as notifications of debt payment requirements.

Applications for clarification of payments and refund of overpayments
If mistakes were made during the payments, you can quickly submit an application for clarification through your personal account. The service also allows you to apply for a refund or offset of overpayment of taxes.

Request for extracts and information from state registers
An organization may request an extract from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRLE) or from the Unified State Register of Real Estate (USRN) related to the company itself, both in electronic format and on paper.

Deferral and installment of tax payments
The personal account allows you to apply for deferred or installment payment of taxes, which can be a useful tool for companies experiencing temporary financial difficulties.

Checking budget calculations
The ability to initiate reconciliation of calculations with the budget helps companies to control their tax obligations and avoid misunderstandings when interacting with tax authorities.

Obtaining information about tax arrears and compulsory collection
An organization may receive information about unfulfilled tax claims and about debt collection measures taken against the company.

How do I get access to my Personal Account?
In order to start using the taxpayer’s personal account, the organization needs to complete several steps:

Registration on the FTS portal
The organization must register on the official website of the Federal Tax Service of Russia. Registration is carried out online, you must fill out an electronic form and sign an agreement on opening access to your personal account.

Getting an electronic signature
Access to the personal account and signing of documents is carried out using an electronic signature. To do this, you must obtain a qualified certificate of the electronic signature verification key from one of the certification centers accredited by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.

Filing of tax reports
At the moment, the functionality of the Personal Account of a legal entity does not provide for the possibility of filing tax reports. However, for these purposes, a separate service “Submission of tax and accounting statements in electronic form” operates on the FTS website. This service operates as part of a pilot project, and its use is possible without the participation of an electronic document management operator (EDO).

However, not all organizations can use this service. The exceptions are companies with more than 100 employees, as well as the largest taxpayers. Also, you cannot submit a VAT tax return through this service.

Advantages of using a Personal Account
Saving time and resources
The taxpayer’s personal account avoids the need for personal visits to the tax inspectorate, which significantly saves time and reduces the cost of organizing document management.

The efficiency of obtaining information
All up-to-date information on the status of settlements with the budget, debts, overpayments and other aspects of tax obligations are available in real time.

Simplification of interaction with tax authorities
Submitting applications, requests and documents in electronic form can significantly simplify the process of interaction with the tax service and minimize the risks of loss or delay of documents.

Control over tax liabilities
The ability to independently initiate reconciliation of calculations with the budget and control debts helps organizations avoid fines and sanctions from the tax authorities.

Conclusion
The taxpayer’s personal account for legal entities is a powerful tool for tax accounting and interaction with tax authorities. It allows companies to effectively manage their tax obligations, receive up-to-date information and promptly resolve issues online. In the context of digital transformation, this is an important step towards simplifying business in Russia.
