E.S.Omuraliev, Counselor of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation, took part in the meeting of the International Discussion Club “VISION 3000”, the theme of which was: “Tourism as a bridge between cultures: development of interregional and international routes”.
Ermek Sotsialovich highlighted in detail the country’s unique opportunities for the development of cultural, ecological and mountain tourism, and also stressed the importance of strengthening interregional cooperation in the tourism sector.
Dear Alfiya Ravilyevna,
Dear participants of the meeting,
Dear colleagues and friends,
On behalf of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation, let me thank the organizers of today’s event, the International Discussion Club VISION 3000, for inviting me to speak on a truly important and relevant topic on the development of the tourism sector.
Before turning to the main topic of today’s event, I would like to briefly mention the Kyrgyz-Russian relations. The Russian Federation is the most important partner of the Kyrgyz Republic, a State with which a high level of relations has been established in the spirit of alliance and strategic partnership. Today, Russia is our reliable and key partner in international politics, security, economic and cultural development. Relations between our countries are developing very successfully, including thanks to an active dialogue at the level of our Heads of State, and the friendship of our peoples is based on historically established trusting and kind relations that have been tested by time.
Undoubtedly, tourist ties contribute to the growth and prosperity of our friendly countries through an intercultural and distinctive dialogue between peoples, strengthening a positive image and spiritual and moral values, expanding knowledge and preserving cultural and historical heritage.
In the Kyrgyz Republic, the development of tourism potential is given a significant place, including due to the fact that this area is becoming an important factor in economic growth and well-being of the population. President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.N.Japarov personally pays close attention to the active development of the tourism industry.
To demonstrate tourism opportunities to a large audience, the Kyrgyz Republic actively uses the largest, reputable exhibition venues around the world. Here in Russia, the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic annually participates in the International Exhibition of Tourism and the Hospitality Industry “MITT”, which has received wide recognition. The national stand of our country, where the products and services of companies in the tourism sector and artisans of Kyrgyzstan are presented, has traditionally been popular.
I would also like to note the traditionally high interest from the tourism business community of Kyrgyzstan in participating in such events.
The delegations of professional participants of the Kyrgyz Republic are traditionally headed by the Tourism Development Support Fund, which makes a great contribution to the sustainable development of the country’s tourism industry by increasing the influx of tourists, attracting investment in tourism projects, and creating the best conditions for tourists and businesses through the introduction of best practices.
Of course, we always welcome and support international projects aimed at developing economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, including tourism.
For example, the international expedition “Journey to the Heart of Eurasia” has recently been successfully completed, which has become a unique large-scale project dedicated to the development of business, tourism, cultural and scientific ties between Russia and Central Asia, and allowed to get acquainted with the historical, cultural and tourist attractions of the region. The expedition traveled eight thousand kilometers and visited 30 cities of our countries along the way.
Thanks to the measures and efforts taken, the attractiveness of the Kyrgyz Republic as a tourist country has grown significantly in recent years, which is confirmed by the growing tourist flow to the republic.
By the end of 2024, Russia ranked 3rd in terms of the number of tourists visiting Kyrgyzstan, after Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. There has also been an increase in tourists from countries such as China, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, India, Pakistan, South Korea, Malaysia, Germany, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and others.
At the same time, traditionally, the greatest activity of guests is recorded during the summer tourist season. Our pearl, Lake Issyk–Kul, is a well-known attraction for lovers of wellness and beach holidays. Back in the days of the USSR, national teams in various sports gathered here for monthly training camps. Currently, the lake’s infrastructure and hotel facilities are being actively updated, new hotels, holiday homes, and guest houses are being built to suit any budget.
Other tourist locations in the country are also interesting. Excursions to the places of the Great Silk Road and ethnotourism are in high demand. For lovers of active tourism, our travel companies offer adventure tours (hiking, trekking, horseback riding, rafting).
Today, the country has launched a number of large-scale projects aimed at popularizing winter recreation. Skiing and our ski resorts are already well known to fans of this season. Work is underway to improve the quality of tourist services, and year-round hotels and resorts are being built that meet the most modern international standards.
Among such projects, I can mention the construction of Ala-Too Resort, the largest ski cluster in Central Asia, in the Issyk-Kul region (with the participation of foreign investors). The recreation area is located in Ak-Suu district. Trails with a total length of about 200 km are planned, and the ski resorts themselves will operate for 10 months a year. A 3D sketch of the complex, designed for 2 million guests per year, has been prepared. Projects of 3, 4 and 5 star hotels have been developed.
In order to make our resorts accessible, a lot of work is being done to establish air links, including with Russian cities. Work is underway to repair and modernize airports and roads across the country.
Winter trips can be made all over Kyrgyzstan. In addition to ski and snowboard trails, guests will be offered a wide variety of services: horseback riding, cross-country skiing and freeride, tobogganing, there are thermal springs and, of course, delicious national cuisine. For example, you can visit the Karakol ski resort, which was once the base of the Olympic reserve, and today is a modern resort in the Tien Shan Mountains.
Spring is also a great time for comfortable travel. You can see how nature wakes up, apple, cherry and apricot orchards bloom. The mountains are covered with grass, bright red poppies are blooming. In the south of Kyrgyzstan, in the Jalal-Abad region, you can visit the world’s only relict walnut forests!
The Kyrgyz Republic has amazingly delicious food, diverse cuisine and always fresh, organic products. Fresh meat, delicious, juicy vegetables and fragrant spices make their taste unforgettable. In general, our cuisine is quite simple to prepare, natural and nutritious. In addition to koumiss, you can try healthy cereal drinks.
У нас в стране живут люди более 80 национальностей и их кулинарные традиции переплелись, сформировав неповторимый, яркий вкус. В Бишкеке можно найти традиционную кухню разных народов мира.
Dear participants and colleagues!
Traveling to the Kyrgyz Republic is easy and simple, there are no visas for guests from most countries, including Russia, there is no language barrier with our partners from the CIS countries, and we share a common history and values.
Fans of outdoor activities will love the interesting routes laid out in the most picturesque places. Waterfalls, canyons, caves, mountain lakes: the variety of natural resources is breathtaking. We have 40,000 rivers with crystal clear glacial drinking water and over 2,000 lakes hiding in epically beautiful valleys. Stunning, breathtaking views and thousands of stunning photos are guaranteed.
The best way to experience the culture and traditions of the country is to spend the night in a yurt camp. You can comfortably stay here and at the same time experience the beauty of nomadic culture. The yurt towns are located on mountain pastures. They are beautifully decorated and have a sufficient level of amenities. Living in such a camp, you can not only enjoy the stunning views of the unique nature, but also become a part of the traditional nomad life.
Therefore, I urge everyone to come and relax in hospitable Kyrgyzstan!
In conclusion, taking into account the participation of high-level representatives from various regions of vast Russia in today’s event, I would like to highlight the importance of interregional cooperation. Kyrgyzstan and Russia actively use all the tools of interstate cooperation. Along with the Kyrgyz-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation, we effectively have such a stable mechanism of interaction as the Kyrgyz-Russian Interregional Conference. This is a mechanism created on the initiative of the two Presidents, where, on a rotating basis – one year on the territory of the Russian Federation, the other year on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, the delegations of the heads of regions and regions of the two countries gather together with their representative delegations, including representatives of the business community, discuss the potential of interregional cooperation and sign not only Agreements on twinning relations between the regions regions, municipalities, but also reach agreements on specific cooperation and business projects between entrepreneurs from the regions of the two countries. In 2024, the XI meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian Interregional Conference was held in Krasnoyarsk in July, and this year, approximately on November 25, 2025, it is planned to hold the next XII meeting, timed to coincide with the visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.Putin’s visit to the Kyrgyz Republic. I take this opportunity to ask the heads of the regions of the Russian Federation to take note of this important information and consider the visit at the governor’s level and carry out a business mission to the Kyrgyz Republic.
As noted above, Kyrgyzstan has a unique potential in the field of tourism. We have beautiful and rich nature, historical attractions, various types of tourist services and destinations are developing, a ski cluster is being formed at an active pace, resorts and world-class ski resorts are being built. The ski clusters of the Kyrgyz Republic will become centers of attraction for athletes, tourists and youth of many countries. In this regard, interested business circles are invited to consider opportunities for the implementation of joint projects in the field of tourism.
Kyrgyzstan aims to continue and strengthen its comprehensive dialogue with Russia.
Welcome to the Kyrgyz Republic.
